busy bee

I had an interesting weekend, the carpenters finished and left on Friday. Just delighted with all their work and now the builders have a couple of days work and the house will be finally mine again. I have been using free cycle for a while, clearing out things we no longer need and last week I put out a 'wanted' on my local site. I asked for buttons, old and new and had a response from a lovely lady who when I went over to collect on Saturday gave me not only a treasure trove of buttons but theses wonderful vintage patterns too.

I spent the whole of the eurovision voting sewing and any spare time whip stitching my hexagons. And now I have more that 2 flowers things seem to have gathered a pace. With any luck I will finish this before the summer holidays, as I plan to make 2 matching quilts for the guest room. Only this time I will machine stitch the tops and hand quilt them.

Hope you all have a wonderful week! I am looking forward to going over to I Knit London this week, where I will meet up with some lovely blogging ladies.

I have never tried paper pieced patchwork but yous looks very nice. It one of those things to pick up and put down I suppose.
Did you know you can rent Kisrtys House?! I suspect she takes away all the lovely quilts etc!
