Half term has been so cold and Miss T has had a terrible cold too, so we haven't ventured out. I instead chose to make up some new clothes. First was a taupe wool dress from a Simplicity pattern, an easy pattern to follow I just need to do some top stitching in a chocolate thread. I have made a couple of alterations to the pattern and hope to make this up again with a few tweaks. The next project was a simple pencil skirt in a chunky cord fabric, such a wonderful bright orange.
I also made up the tunic in a lovely linen, but will have to get a photo of that this weekend, very easy to make up and simple instructions. I am sure I will wear it lots in the summer over a t-shirt.
Here is a snap of where I have been spending so much time, my little sewing space. The wallpaper and paint is dry, just new blinds for the window and it will look warm and cosy. Hope you all have had a great half term.

Love the dress, but that orange skirt is just gorgeous. I used to have an orange skirt when I was a student. I don't know why I never think of it as a colour option these days - it's so cheerful!
Hi Ruth,
What a productive half term! I was just moaning to J that I had got nothing done. I wish I could get into the whole dressmaking thing. I have found a skirt sew along so might try that.
Joanna
both are gorgeous!
And your wallpaper is fantastic - LOVE it!
wow you've been busy :o) Love what you made and lovely to stumble across your blog too. Hope you're having a lovely weekend x
Wow! Lovely dress and skirt!
Hi Ruth!
Love the dress and the skirt! You are really skilled dress maker. I wish I could make a dress (that is my aim for this summer!).
Yes, the weather has been really crappy recently. I do miss the sun and warmth.
Hope you had a great weekend!
Never mind the sewing, you have the best taste in wallpaper! The fabrics you've chosen are great - linen and chunky cord - texture is just as interesting as pattern and colour. Can't wait to see the sewing room when it's all 'cosied' up. Jen x

Great skirt, and I especially like the wool dress. Sounds like a busy half term for you!
