cold climate

I know spring is on its way, but the evenings can be chilly. I have managed to kill a hot-water bottle, by adding boiling water to it apparently - so our new bottles are a little different to the old type and require new covers. The first I love, its just the fun of the patchwork and its bright, the second was a recycling project. One of J's shirts had a frayed collar, spying all the buttons I thought I'd try a complete covered hot-water bottle cover. Both are interlined with insul-bright and machine quilted, needless to say J likes his shirt version best!

I've just discovered your blog (think I came via All Fingers and Thumbs blogpage).
Anyway, I'm here now and am loving your hot water bottle covers. I wasn't aware that you could 'Kill' one by adding boiling water !
Hot water bottles are definitely my thing - I can't stand cold feet in bed (or at any other time for that matter).

Oh, it's so lovely and useful! Fabric is very nice. We still have snow here and it's chilly during nights so hot-water bottle is very good thing for this year spring! ;)

OOh - I absolutely adore your ornate bed, but know that if I owned that I'd probably ruin it by painting it white. I have a thing about painting furniture, lol.

Great hot water bottle cover. Such a shame more people don't use them. I guess since most people are centrally heated now, they are not used so much, but here in Frosty Edinburgh, we love a hot water bottle. You have insprired me to go make covers for ours, which are normally just wrapped up in a boring old pillowcase.

Best Wishes
Primrose

Lovely cosy hot water bottle covers. I really want to try string patchwork too, it looks so pretty and a great use for all those offcuts of fabric I save!
