sewing kits

I have my golden ticket for Fat Quarterly's retreat, so looking forward to it.  Are you going?  It made me think about what I should be taking along and a portable sewing kit will be essential.  My sewing kit is a basket by my machine with various items thrown in - not portable though.  It got me thinking and I have found some fabulous tutorials via pinterest and thought I'd share my favorites.

very cute and there is also a patchwork version tutorial.  May be this tiny matchbook needle case.

i made some little needle holders last Christmas as presents, so easy, just squares of felt sewn together like a book and the front decorated :) All these are cute!
