Hawaiian quilting

Yesterday evening I traced out the start of my Hibiscus Hawaiian block, this will be a cushion.  Starting small is less scarey and taking it from there.  Having done that I flicked through a vintage Golden Hands book and found this project.
Cute and so easy in  felt, no needle turning at all!  I have a piece of Kona Solid bought for a project that for me just didn't work with the other fabrics as well as I had hoped.  So that delicious aqua will be a cushion by Monday and in a Kona Solid as I have really been enjoying seeing what people are creating with the solids.

If you don't quilt but crochet, Sarah London has a totally stunning crochet Hawaiian flower and a fabulous looking book too.  If you'd like to give Hawaiian quilting a go, have a peek here, here and on Spoonflower there are some amazing cheaters cloth - just to gaze at the beauty!
